In the Queen’s Birthday Honours Denise Allan has received the MBE.

Mrs Allan is 54 years old and from Edinburgh. She is currently Managing Director of Customer Service, Sky UK, and has received the award for services to the Telecommunications Industry during Covid-19

Denise leads over 10,000 colleagues – from engineers to change specialists and customer experts to billing teams while looking after millions of customers.

Through the Covid-19 lockdown, she took on responsibility for Sky’s overall response to the pandemic, leading the crisis management team. In addition to her day-to-day responsibilities, she has led a multi-disciplinary team coordinating a UK-wide effort to keep customers connected and informed. Her leadership and the work of her teams has kept customers online and connected.

Denise said: “I’m so honoured and humbled to receive this recognition. At Sky, we did our very best to support our customers, and keep them informed and connected when they needed us the most. I am proud to have played my part, and to have worked with thousands of brilliant and dedicated colleagues who went the extra mile to serve our customers and to keep our people safe. ”

The work Denise did included making sure key workers were safe in going about their duties and that they had the equipment and PPE they needed as well as offering support for them and their families.

Denise has been with Sky for 26 years, joining as an accountant in 1994 and rising through the ranks to her current role as Managing Director of Customer Service.
