The Scottish Government has issued figures today of the number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.



The figures as at 5 October are as follows:

Number of new cases of Covid-19 reported today – 800 new cases which is 13.2 % of those tested

Number of deaths reported today of people who have tested positive – 2 (A total of 2532 deaths in total under that measurement.)

Number of people in Intensive Care Units in Scotland – 25 which is an increase of 3

Number of people in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19 – 262 which is an increase of 44

Number of new tests for Covid-19 with results reported – 33,706

Public Health Scotland confirmed that the number of new cases in Lothian is 164

Although the Cabinet met this morning, no decisions have yet been made as to a stricter lockdown in the days to come. A further meeting will be held on Wednesday morning and there will be an announcement to Parliament tomorrow.
