Police are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old was attacked whilst walking on Loan Path in the Howden area of Livingston around 9.40pm last night.

He became aware of two people following him and the pair asked him for money before carrying out a sustained attack leaving him with facial injuries.

They then stole his mobile phone and headphones.

The two suspects are both described as white males, around 5ft 10, aged 15-16. One had ginger hair, a skinny build and was wearing a blue and grey tracksuit. The other had fair hair with a slim build and was wearing a blue hoodie and grey jogging bottoms.

Detective Sergeant John Bowerbank from Livingston CID said: “This has been a terrifying ordeal for the young victim. I’m appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time or has CCTV to please get in touch so we can catch those responsible.”
