Sea Kist, the antiques shop on the High Street in South Queensferry welcomed a VIP visitor this week … Hollywood star Brooke Shields.

The shop attracted a bit of attention on social media when it posted a picture of Ms Shields, who popped in for a Saturday shopping expedition.

The star – who shot to fame in the movie “Blue Lagoon” – is in Scotland filming a new romantic comedy for Netflix.

Sea Kist owner Jenni Meldrum said: “Brooke is a lovely lady with a great eye for antiques. She had a good look around the shop while we chatted. It was fantastic to see her in South Queensferry. I hope she’ll visit us again.”

Sea Kist is no stranger to celebrities. The shop has welcomed a number of stars during filming of episodes of the BBC show “Antiques Road Trip”.

Visitors have included “Loose Women” host Kaye Adams and “Game of Thrones” actor Clive Russell. Jenni herself has also appeared on “The Antiques Roadshow” and “Bargain Hunt”.

Jenni says: “I offer a range of goods which it would be difficult to find elsewhere. This may appeal to people who collect certain items, or people who are looking for something a bit different to decorate their homes or even give as a gift.

“Most items are affordable. There is also a ‘green’ aspect to the goods in the shop. They have been pre-owned and cared for so there is no large scale manufacturing involved so it’s another means of recycling and being kind to the planet!”

The shop’s ethos seemed to impress Brooke – pictured with a Wally Dug  a copy of the Forth Bridge book “The Briggers”, which Jenni worked on a researcher.
