Two men, aged 23 and 41, have been arrested and charged in connection with an assault in Niddrie.
Officers attended the scene following a report of an assault having taken place on Niddrie Mains Road around 11.50am on Wednesday morning.
After an investigation, the two men were arrested whilst a 70-year-old man was conveyed to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
He has since been released.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
