Park up in the Port and pop into the market on Saturday. The live markets are back in town.
At Leith Market, Dock Place, on Saturday, the market is back from 10am to 4pm. There are three markets run by the same company, and they will be in Grassmarket on Saturday too, and Stockbridge on Sunday. After running virtual markets during the lockdown they are now glad to be back in business.
Beth said: “We’ve reduced our trader numbers and now have around 20 stalls in Leith, 23 stalls in Stockbridge and 18 in Grassmarket. All our markets are great for shopping whether its with bread, meat, fish, veg, fruit , cheese, charcuterie, home bakes, teas, olives, salads, jams, ready meals and more treats, or more of a gifts and crafts offering – There is Something for Everyone.
“In Leith and Stockbridge, there is one entrance to the market and one exit with a marked route round the market and we have staff at the entrance and exit to explain the procedure, and if necessary limit the number of customers in the market at at any one time.
“At all our markets, there is hand sanitiser at the entrance and on each stall. Our staff wear masks. We will be urging the public to help us by maintaining distance from each other. We have the advantage of being outdoors and you bring your own shopping bags, no trolleys.”
