Dozens of police officers were called to a large disturbance at Portobello beach yesterday afternoon.

Several cars and vans attended in response to a call around 3pm and broke up were seen to confiscating alcohol from groups of youths.

There were no reports of any injuries or arrests but enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ā€œWe received a report of a large disturbance on Portobello beach in Edinburgh around 3pm on Friday, 31 July, 2020.

ā€œOfficers are currently in attendance, there are no reports of any injuries and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.ā€
