Bass Rock Shore Angling League invite sea anglers to their pre-season match on Wednesday at one of the best beaches in the Lothians.
Seacliff Beach, described as a hidden gem, is the venue and registration is at the beach car park at 6.20pm. Fishing is from 7pm to 10pm on designated pegs.
The unspoilt beach has views of the Bass Rock and Tantallon Castle and is a favourite of dog walkers, surfers and those who enjoy a picnic.
It is four miles east of North Berwick and Craig Ogilvie, chairman of the East Lothian-based angling club, reminded entrants that there is a £3 charge for the car park.
There is a sweep for those interested but newcomers don’t have to enter. Craig would like people to bring their friends and to come along and meet the group which plans regular matches throughout the winter at different venues.
Meanwhile, skipper Derek Anderson of Aquamarine Charters has space on Sagittarius out of Eymouth at 9am on Friday for a six-hour sea angling trip with mackerel and cod among the species on offer.
