Club Academy Scotland clubs are set to return to football from 1 August, following the Scottish Government’s move to phase three of the route map out of lockdown.
The Scottish FA announced a partial lifting of training restrictions from Monday, 13 July onwards and the return to training for Elite and Performance level clubs marks another positive step in the return to football.
For children and young people aged from 5-17, sessions for up to 10 players and two coaches are allowed. Player to player contact is permitted within those training sessions, however coaches must remain physically distanced from players at all times.
Campbell Money, Club Academy Scotland manager: “We are delighted to have a date lined up for the return to training for our Elite and Performance level clubs.
“It has been a long spell with no football for young players across the country, so the patience and understanding from Club Academy Scotland players and coaches has been crucial and we are all thankful for that support.
“It is imperative that clubs follow our guidelines to ensure the health and wellbeing of all involved is put first. With support from players, coaches and clubs, we hope to progress to the next step in the return to football in due course.”
