Two of Britain’s best brass bands will perform in Edinburgh on Saturday (3pm) at St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, Palmerston Place.

The Fairey Band, nine-time National Brass Band Champions of Great Britain, and Scottish Open champions, Whitburn Band (pictured), plan a diverse programme with the music of Tchaikovsky, Wagner and Disney movies.,

Founded in 1937 in Stockport, the Fairey Band has enjoyed tours in Europe, Canada and Hong Kong.

Whitburn Band have been Scottish champions 20 times and chairman Charlie Farren said: “Everyone is looking forward to welcoming The Fairey Band to Scotland for what is sure to be a fantastic concert.”

Tickets for the concert, available at the door, are priced at £12 and £8 concession.
