Grange claimed their fourth straight win in the men’s Premiership with a 3-1 success over struggling Dundee Wanderers at Fettes College.

Alan Johnston opened the scoring after three minutes for the home side but newly-promoted Wanderers shocked fans with a leveller nine minutes after that from Elliot Sanderson following a penalty corner.

Grange forged ahead for a second time when Jacob Tweedie netted two minutes later and Dan Coultas settled the issue with a penalty corner strike after 25 minutes.

Also in the Capital, Edinburgh University shocked early pace-setters Western Wildcats with a 6-3 success at Peffermill engineered by former Western star Graham Moodie who now coaches the students.

Ben Pearson and Mazon Ligett both netted doubles with Tommy Dawes and Jack Jamieson scoring the other goals.

And former Scotland captain Mike Leonard saw Watsonians beaten 6-3 by bottom club Kelburne at Glasgow’s National Hockey Centre.

Grove Menzieshill beat Clydesdale 3-1 and Grange, Grove and Edinburgh University all now have 12 points with Grange topping the league on goal difference.

Abroad, Andrew McConnell of Auchenhowie-based Western Wildcats helped Great Britain under-21 win the Sultan of Johor Cup in Malaysia following a 2-1 victory over India as Stuart Rushmere bagged a brilliant brace, the winning goal coming in the final minute.
