Hibernian Community Foundation has appointed Lewis Melee as Community Development Manager with a remit to develop the already wide range of community projects the Foundation delivers out with its community coaching programme.
Mr Melee will also be responsible for developing partnerships with other organisations across Edinburgh and the Lothians in addition to social programme development and delivery.
Born in Edinburgh, Mr Melee was introduced to Hibernian FC through family and has been a supporter since.
A graduate of Abertay University Lewis holds a degree in Sports Development and a Master’s by Research which focussed on the development of women’s football in Scotland.
Previously he held posts with both Dundee FC and Dundee FC Community Trust.
Commenting on the appointment Foundation CEO Charlie Bennett said ‘The Foundation first became aware of Lewis at the EFDN Conference in Ghent just under a year ago and I was impressed by his background, experience, and motivation to use football to improve lives.
“The Foundation has been on a steep trajectory of growth over the last three years, and I am pleased to have Lewis on board to continue our momentum”.
John graduated from Telford College in 2010 with an HNC in Practical Journalism and since then he worked for the North Edinburgh News, The Southern Reporter, the Irish News Review and The Edinburgh Reporter. In addition he has been published in the Edinburgh Evening News and the Hibernian FC Programme.
