Autumn in the US is a colourful time to witness the changing scenery with all the leaves and foliage changing colour before your eyes.
Aer Lingus has some deals to take you to the Catskills, the Adirondacks and the Kangamus Highway through its routes to the East Coast and places like Rainier National Park by way of Seattle.
The Irish airline flies to 14 destinations in North America with easy access to forests and natural parks when you get there.
Dara McMahon, Aer Lingus Director of Marketing and Digital Experience, said: “Autumn is the perfect time of year to explore North America’s spectacular Fall foliage, thanks to Aer Lingus’ extensive transatlantic route network.
“Aer Lingus offers guests a choice of 14 top destinations, coast-to-coast, which provide easy access to some of North America’s best and most beautiful wilderness areas.
“Guests can fly to the US and Canada in comfort and style with Aer Lingus and enjoy a warm welcome and Irish hospitality, landing as domestic customers in America after going through pre-clearance in Dublin to make their journey even smoother.”
Ideas for your autumn break include Minneapolis-St Paul taking you to the Minnesota River and the Byway as well as St Croix Valley and Bluff Country. In Chicago there is Lincoln Park and Chicago Botanic Garden along with LaBagh Woods with all the walking trails there.
Boston is a popular destination with possibilities of seeing the fall colours in western Massachusetts and Vermont. New York is not all about Manhattan as the Hudson River Valley and the Catskills are accessed by going north rather than south when you exit JFK. It’s not all about shopping, there are many sights to enjoy.
Washington DC not only has all the sites of national government but you can also go to George Washington’s Mount Vernon which is worthy of a day out all on its own (and there are loads of things you can do to celebrate autumn as you can see here).
The autumn offering follows a really successful summer for Aer Lingus who carried eight million passengers across North America and Europe.
