Dany Gappmaier (pictured) powered to 13 points as injury-hit Berwick Bandits edged Scunthorpe Scorpions 49-41 in the Borders.

Jye Ethridge was next best with nine points in the confidence-boosting victory achieved minus Nikolaj Busk Jacobsen who suffered a shoulder injury in the win over Eastbourne Eagles last weekend.

The scoreline was closer as Bandits lost the last race 5-1 but the match was effectively over after the home side led 24-12 after six heats.

And 5-1 scorelines in heats eight and nine increased the advantage to 37-17.

Former Berwick racer Ben Barker was best for the visitors with 13 points while Simon Lambert was second top scorer with nine points.
