SGB Championship: Berwick Bandits 52, Birmingham Brummies 38

Berwick Bandits came from behind despite an injury to Aaron Summers in the first heat to clinch a confidence-boosting home win over Birmingham Brummies in the SGB Championship.

The Borders combine won 52-38 with Dany Gappmaier scoring 15 points from seven rides.

Bandits lost the first heat 4-2 then levelled in the next race before going behind 10-8 after Heat Three.

Then, 5-1 scorelines in Heats Four, Six, Seven, Eight and Nine saw Bandits move 36-18 ahead.

A 5-1 for Brummies in the next race helped reduce the deficit but Bandits held on to record a comfortable win despite 11 points from Adam Ellis.
