Victor Palovaara is rejoining the Staggs Bar Monarchs in time for their next match to assist the club through an injury crisis.

He comes in for Justin Sedgmen and the Swede said: “It’s going to be fun.”

Victor had originally been included in Newcastle Diamonds’ side for this season, but missed out after a late reshuffle.

He commented: “Maybe when something bad happens it brings something good with it.

“I have the bikes built so I just have to build a box to send them over. They were all packaged up at the start of the season then I dismantled them. Now I put them together again.”

Victor rides in two Swedish Elite League matches next week for his club Vetlanda and has yet to decide whether he can be in Scotland in time for the Harrisons Scottish Open on Friday, June 7.

Meanwhile, Josh Pickering has broken a shoulder blade which could take three months to heal.
