Saskia Eng had the honour of switching the Christmas lights on in Edinburgh on Sunday afternoon.
The local singer who is a former pupil of the City of Edinburgh Music School found fame on The Voice with Tom Jones and will.i.am.

She took to the stage and entertained the crowds with three songs including White Christmas, before flipping the switch to light up the entire city with fairy lights and fireworks.

Ahead of the ceremony, Saskia said: “I feel absolutely honoured to be switching on the Edinburgh Christmas lights. It is not something I ever expected to be asked to do. The people of Edinburgh have always supported me and I cannot wait to be there with them all at such a special time in my home city.”
