Edinburgh Monarchs face a key SGB Championship fixture at Redcar Bears on Thursday (7.30pm).

And they are looking to bounce back after the disappointing 53-37 defeat at Scunthorpe Scorpions on Sunday.

They face a Teesside combination anxious to impress new team manager Jade Mudway.

He takes over for the foreseeable future as Bears look to kick on.

Monarchs prop up the 11-strong table with seven points from seven matches.

Redcar are one place above the Scots and have nine points from 11 matches.

So, it’s a key fixture for both clubs.

And the home side go into the clash on the back of a 52-38 win over Scunthorpe last Thursday.

Mikkel B Andersen top scored with 15 points and will be on a high.

Jordan Stewart came third in the Caledonian Riders’ Championship at Armadale last Friday.

And Ben Barker comes into the clash after scoring 11 points and four bonus points guesting for Glasgow at Lakeside last Friday.

Meanwhile, Monarchs have chosen a strong duo for the SGB Championship Pairs.

New Zealand-born Ricky Wells and inspirational German racer Erik Riss will line up for the Armadale men at Somerset on Friday, 20 July.
