Musselburgh and District Angling Association (MDAA) are hosting a two-day riverbank clean-up.

It’s on the morning of Sunday, June 24 and again on Monday, June 25, this time in the evening.

Officials appreciate people have other things to do at the weekend.

Chris Halliday, the MDAA chairman, said: “We would be very grateful for any help we get.

“If you want to improve your river why not come along and give us a hand?”

The meeting place is at the Job Centre at Musselburgh at 11am on Sunday and the same location at 6pm on Monday.

Meanwhile, the East Lothian Angling Association will be at the Haddington Show on Saturday, 30 June.

And they would welcome a visit to their stand.

They will be joined by the Forth Rivers Trust and there will be an invertebrates tank, perhaps some juvenile fish, a river model and posters on the association’s work.

And a fly-tying demonstration will also be staged.
