Super lightweight contenders Josh Taylor and Winston Campos have had their final say ahead of their WBC silver title showdown on Saturday at the SSE Hydro.
Both men were in confident mood ahead of the bout and the winner is expected to press for world title contention.
Limited tickets are still available and Taylor from Prestonpans said: “I can’t wait to go back and fight at the Hydro on Saturday for the first time since the Commonwealth Games.
“I’ve got some great memories from fighting there as an amateur and it’ll be special to return at the top of a bill this weekend.
“Obviously, I had nearly a full camp preparing for a different fighter in Humberto Soto but I feel confident that I’ll be able to adapt to Winston Campos.
“He’s taller, he’s a southpaw and he’s dangerous, but I’m feeling great and there’s only one winner. It might take me a couple of rounds to adjust to his style, but I think the stoppage will come.”
Campos responded: “I know that Josh Taylor is a good fighter, but I have fought better guys than him.
“I will look to hunt him down from the first bell. I want him to know that he is in for a fight. Let’s hope Josh wants to fight too and we can give the fans a war. I feel strong, I feel aggressive and I think that belt is going back with me to Nicaragua.”
Promoter Barry McGuigan predicted fight fans are in for a terrific night of action and the former world champion said: “After Soto pulled out with injury, I was grateful for Campos and his team accepting the fight, and the main event should be a good test for Josh.
“Campos hasn’t lost in almost five years and he’ll come forward and try and put the pressure on.”
