This book is due to be published in April 2018. It is the final book in a trilogy by Edinburgh author David Munro, and will be launched at Blackwells North Bridge on 5 April 2018 at 6.30pm.

James Carsell-Brown is a time-traveller. He finds himself in the future, where he encounters an attractive young lady.
Unknown to James, she is the ghost of the woman who took her own life. He is thrown back to 1916; before the gruesome act occurs. He investigates what caused her to end her life. But can he prevent her suicide? Is time on his side or his enemy?

James makes a startling discovery when he returns to the future which changes his life forever. To investigate further, he visits Edinburgh, where yet another shock awaits him. Is the death of the young woman related?

The book centres on Ardrishaig and Edinburgh. The author told us about his links with the locations : “My grandfather came from Ardrishaig and moved to Edinburgh, hence the connection. The scenes in Edinburgh are mainly in the Royal Mile. I bought my first property there – opposite John Knox’s House.

“One of the characters is a ghost – associated with the Mile. I am from Leith, and there are scenes around Granton and Newhaven and also at Haymarket.”

The main character, James Carsell-Brown is an ordinary man who becomes a time traveller who uses his ability to prevent his family from suffering trauma.

David Munro was born in Edinburgh and lived there until the age of 27. He was employed by a major brewery within the capital and relocated to Aberdeen, then Glasgow.

The author attended university and college to attain chartered status  as a marketer. As a business professional he has that in common with the protagonist in the series. He tells us that English was his best subject at school but that although he has no literary qualifications he has a terrific imagination, endless supply of stories and an astute editor and good publisher.

David’s love of history allows him the opportunity to delve into past cultures and pinnacle events. His book, Awakening, has a First World War theme, telling the story of romance and heartache. He is already at work on his fourth book.
