Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate this ‘day for lovers’ than indulging in a romantic meal for two. OpenTable, the world’s leading restaurant booking service, has revealed Friday 2nd February as ‘ValenDine’s Day’ and is calling on diners to lock in their reservations this weekend based on new insights from its Valentine’s Day dining data.
Leaving things to chance could be a recipe for a broken heart, with UK diners booking on
average 12 days in advance of Valentine’s Day diners should move quickly to ensure a table at their chosen romantic dining hotspot. And with restaurants seeing a 41% increase in reservations on Valentine’s Day in 2017 compared to the equivalent evening in February, it’s no surprise the rush is on to secure a table!
Last year’s data also reveals that the most requested dining time on Valentine’s Day is 7:30pm. British, Italian, Steak, French and Modern European are the most popular romantic cuisines for UK diners to enjoy with their loved one.
