Five Scottish youngsters have joined Caledonia Pride’s programme for this season.

The move underlines the commitment of Scotland’s only female professional basketball franchise to develop home-grown talent.

Shawnisay Millar and Hansine Marshall return for their second season and three new players make their debuts.

They are Pollyanna Storie of City of Edinburgh Basketball Club who represented the Great Britain under-16 women at this year’s European Championships.

Sian Phillips will receiving additional development at Pride and Alix Henderson also represented Great Britain’s under-18 team in Dublin recently. She will train full-time with Pride.

Pride open their season on Saturday when they host defending Women’s British Basketball League champions Nottingham Wildcats (5pm).
