At the Edinburgh International Science Festival there was family fun with an educational message at the weekend.

EDF Energy showcased its commitment to encouraging young people into STEM careers at its interactive experience in the Grassmarket.

This allowed  visitors to immerse themselves in a 360 virtual reality film, design an avatar of themselves in their dream career and develop their own smart gadget.

EDF Energy is proud to be powering Edinburgh International Science Festival.

As well as being Scotland’s largest generator of low carbon electricity, EDF Energy is also investing in the next generation of Scottish minds.

The company says that it wants to inspire and encourage young people to think about careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) because Scotland needs a workforce with strong skills in STEM to help address the energy challenges of the future.

The Edinburgh International Science Festival runs till 16 April 2017.
