Scott Courtney admitted on-track silverware was hard to come by for Berwick Bandits last season but he claims the club lead the way in some very significant areas.
Courtney, one of the club’s new owners, said: “Last season we managed to execute some very innovative things at Berwick, although track covers have often been discussed and even attempted in the past, we were able to create the formula and execute the task successfully on two occasions.
“Olympus Marquees were instrumental in helping out with supplying the material for the corners and also helping out with the man power alongside our brilliant track staff on match day
“We also took on board the opinion of the fans and the most common complaint was long and sometimes unnecessary delays to the meeting.
“I presented my ideas to the previous owner John Anderson. We discussed the possibility of functioning double medical cover and the rest as they say is history.
“We experienced all the usual thrills and spills of a season but the show never once suffered any frustrating delays.”
Track improvements are well underway for this season and the Courtney brothers, Gary Havelock and all the staff at Berwick Bandits Speedway Club have made it their top priority to bring the best version of Berwick Speedway to the tapes on Saturday 18 March.
