EDINBURGH Capitals coach Michal Dobron told fans that his players will up their performance at high-flying Sheffield Steelers tonight.
His pledge came after Sunday’s 6-0 Elite League capitulation at Dundee Stars just 24 hours after beating the Tayside team 3-2 at Murrayfield.
Import forwards Taylor MacDougall and Ian Schultz are both suffering from undisclosed injuries and could miss the trip.
Jared Staal is sidelined after being hurt in last month’s home clash with Braehead Clan and Fife-born defenceman Tyler Plews has a wrist injury picked up playing for Great Britain under-20s in a recent tournament.
Reflecting on Sunday, Dobron said: “We were OK in the first period which ended 0-0 but not in the second.
“We took stupid penalties and they scored and we did not play well. I’ve talked to the players and the performance will not be like that again.”
