With the January transfer window due to close on Tuesday, Hearts busy January continued apace today with the signing of three new players.

First up was Greek international midfielder Alexandros Tziolis who has signed until the end of this season, subject to international clearance.

31-year-old Tziolis has played at the highest level, having played 62 times for Greece and played in World Cup and European Championship campaigns as well as the Uefa Champions League and Europa League. His previous clubs include Panathinaikos, Werder Bremen and AS Monaco.

Next to arrive was another Greek player, centre-half Anastasios Avlonitis. Known as Tasos, the defender, who stands at 6’3” played last season at Sturm Graz in Austria. He has also signed a short-term deal until the end of this season.

Finally – for now at least – Hearts completed the expected signing of Portuguese striker Ismael Goncalves from Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta for a fee of 200,000 Euros.

The former St Mirren striker previously worked with Hearts Head Coach Ian Cathro when the pair were at Rio Ave together. He has signed a three-year contract at Tynecastle.

All three players will be included in the Hearts squad for the visit of Rangers in the Ladbrokes Premiership on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Hearts have announced ticket arrangements for the forthcoming William Hill Scottish Cup tie against Hibernian at Tynecastle on 12th February. The Hearts website states the following:

In order to be as fair as possible to all supporters and in an effort to accommodate all of the club’s season ticket holders there will be no reserved seating and tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis.  This is to allow for the fact that circa 1300 Season ticket holders from the Roseburn Stand will be displaced, because of Scottish Cup Rule 36, which states that the visiting club has the right to claim up to 20% of the capacity of the stadium.

Additionally, were we not to do this, the makeup of our season ticket sales in the other 3 “traditional” home stands, would mean that only single seats and the occasional pair of tickets would be available to our displaced Roseburn Stand Season ticket holders.

Season ticket holders can purchase a seat from 9am on Wednesday via the club’s three sales channels; online at Hearts eTickets, over the phone by calling 0333 043 1874, option 1, or in person at the Hearts Ticket Centre.

Ambulant and carer season ticket holders can purchase a ticket by calling 0333 043 1874, option 1 then 8 from 12 noon on Tuesday 31st January, or in person at Hearts Ticket Centre from 12 noon to 5pm on Tuesday 31st January.

Season ticket holders will have from 9am Wednesday 1st February to close of business on Saturday 4th February to purchase a ticket – one per account and subject to availability – for the match.

Subject to ticket availability, there may then be a further sales period for non-season ticket holders who purchased tickets for the 4th Round Cup against Raith Rovers, home or away. They will have from 9am – 5pm Monday 6th February to do so.

A further statement regarding a possible general sale of any remaining tickets will then be made.
