MATT Tipoff today (FRI) claimed there can be no excuses when Edinburgh Capitals travel to Braehead Clan on Saturday (7pm) and entertain Fife Flyers on Sunday (6pm).
The Elite League double-header follows back-to-back defeats at Cardiff Devils and at home to Belfast Giants, two teams in the top three in the Elite League, last weekend.
The 26-year-old left-wing, who arrived at Murrayfield after five years at St Mary’s University in the AUS League, said: “Games this weekend are huge for us after a disappointing past weekend.
“We know both teams very well now and have no excuses.”
And the 6ft tall forward added: “We will need to be ten times better in our own end if we want to have any success.
“It comes down to having every line on the same page, with more structure throughout the whole team defensively.
“This is something that comes from hard work and attention to detail in practice.”
He added: “We’ve shown spurts of being a good team but, until we can put a full 60 minutes together it will be hard to have continued success.
“With a solid week of practice there’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to have a successful weekend against these two rivals.”
