Alt-country singing duo, Xylaroo will join musician and comedian Matt Berry at Edinburgh Liquid Rooms this Thursday night.
The announcement comes as the charming Chant sisters, Holly and Coco, prepare to embark as Special Guests on their second UK jaunt with exuberant everyman Matt Berry and his faithful band The Maypoles this Autumn.
‘Danger’, the fourth single to be taken from the pair’s greatly anticipated 2016 debut studio album ‘Sweetooth’ – will be released via Sunday Best / PIAS to coincide with the tour. The duo describe the single as being a stand against racism:
”Danger was influenced by watching stories on the news about police brutality and the killing of black youths. The chorus strange fruit is obviously a reference to the song and poem “Strange Fruit,” a protest against lynchings in the 30’s.”
“These incidences are not isolated from society, strange outcomes come from strange beginnings. Beneath such random acts of violence is a system and a structure that we all bend to in some way or another.”
