A police investigation is underway after a 12-week-old baby girl was found seriously injured at Strathbrock Family Unit in Broxburn, West Lothian on Monday.
The baby girl was taken to hospital in Livingston by ambulance before being transferred to Edinburgh’s Royal Hospital for Sick Children..
Her condition was described as serious.
A Police spokesman said: “A baby girl is in a serious condition after taking unwell in Broxburn.
“Local officers are liaising with medical staff and with family members as they work towards establishing the full set of circumstances.”
A West Lothian Council spokesperson said: “Emergency services attended a council-run homeless facility for families in Broxburn on Monday, 30 May, after concern was raised over the health of a child.
“It is not appropriate to comment further at this time, as it is a police matter.”
