Hearts owner Ann Budge has revealed that over half of the funding for Hearts proposed new Main Stand is already in place. The club told a Question and Answer session with supporters at Tynecastle on Monday evening that the total cost of redeveloping Tynecastle Stadium will be between £11-12 million.
Hearts have begun a period of public consultation and supporters were advised the club will announce in the next few weeks how the rest of the stadium redevelopment will be funded, prior to formal plans for the new main stand being submitted.
Hearts have already discussed the details with the Foundation of Hearts.
Subject to planning and health and safety approval being granted, Mrs Budge advised the club anticipates that when the first team run out in front of the new Main Stand for the first time, it will be completely paid for, with no bank debt at all.
Hearts envisage the new-look Tynecastle Stadium – with a capacity of just under 21,000 – will open in September 2017
