School children from across Edinburgh will feature in Edinburgh’s Christmas Song Book for a three hour festive sing-along on STV Edinburgh on Christmas Day. The festive celebration will start at 9am (repeated at 1pm and 6pm) on STV Edinburgh, with talented youngsters from over 15 Edinburgh schools performing traditional carols and Christmas tunes that will have you rocking around the Christmas tree.

So what’s open and what’s closed today?
Most of the big hotels are open and their bars are too. If you want food you may have had to book ahead but it could be worth a call.

Lothian Buses have a festive timetable as you can see belowalthough their travelshops are closed.
This year there will be more buses running over the festive period then ever before. Extra services and journeys include:
- Service 30 on Christmas Day running hourly between Clovenstone and Niddrie.
- Services 1, 19 and 104 running on Boxing Day, so it will be easier than ever before to get into town for the sales!
- Earlier and later journeys on many services on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

The National Museum of Scotland is closed today and it is not yet clear when it will reopen due to expected strikes.

“Anticipated strike action by the Public and Commercial Services Union is likely to cause some disruption to the National Museum of Scotland on 26 & 27 December.”
