Due to issues with strong wind gusts in Edinburgh today and with further winds forecast over the next couple of days, Underbelly say they have been prevented from putting the cover on Lafayette, the larger tent structure, on schedule. This will mean a knock on delay at the end of the week.
Their statement says: “As a result we have made the decision to delay the opening of the shows in Lafayette until Monday 10 August. The smaller tent, Beauty, will open as planned on Friday.
“The Underbelly and Fringe box offices are contacting all customers with tickets for shows in the Lafayette tent this weekend and we very much hope they can come to performances from Monday onwards and throughout the Fringe. Everybody is also able to come and enjoy the variety of shows in the Beauty from its opening on Friday. However those who cannot reschedule their visit to Circus Hub will be given a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience and customers requesting a refund or with any other queries about their ticket should contact the point of sale from which they bought their tickets.”
All other Underbelly venues will open as planned on Wednesday and Thursday.
Director Charlie Wood said: “We and all our performers very much look forward to welcoming you to Circus Hub in all its full glory.”
