Three young men in dungarees and hard hats pushing wheely bins. Where was it all going to lead? Well, it lead – after a tentative start – to an hour of juggling, balancing, synchronised wheely bin pushing, surfing… Did I say they were Australian? And on their European Premier performance?
The show started a wee bit slow (the privilege of a press ticket was looking like a good deal) with the audience – ranging from less than a year old to quite old – not really sure what to expect from the three guys who make up the performance trio Trash Test Dummies. They soon got into the swing of things, though, as the pace ramped up, along with the skill factor, and just the right amount of audience participation, plus a couple of bits to keep the Health and Safety police on their toes. Very little in the way of speaking, other than to the little lad who offered to hold the bomb who was asked “Are you mad?” There was a lot to cram in, with a fair amount which it would be remiss to reveal, and it was non-stop from start to getting the kids to help them clear up at the finish!
Hopefully the images will give a flavour of the performance without giving too much away.
How these three are going to keep it up – energy wise, never mind without hurting themselves – is anybody’s guess, but lets hope they do. Brilliant show and worth every penny of whatever the entrance fee is. (£10 Ed)
