Edinburgh’s Fierce Pro Dancers launched CHILDREN 1ST’s recruitment drive for May’s Kiltwalk this week.

The leading child welfare charity received a grant of more than £34,000 from last year’s sponsored Kiltwalks and hopes the help of the cheer-squad will encourage even more people to put their best foot forward for Scotland’s children this year.

CHILDREN 1ST campaigns for all children to enjoy a happy, healthy, safe and secure childhood and runs services which support vulnerable children to thrive within their families wherever possible. In Edinburgh this includes supporting vulnerable families and matching children and young people with volunteer befrienders.

Kayleigh Cameron from Fierce Pro Dancers said: “We take part in family-friendly events throughout the country and it’s easy to see how important those early years are. We’re delighted to be launching CHILDREN 1ST’s recruitment campaign and promise to be there on the day to cheer everyone along the way.”

CHILDREN 1ST fundraiser Caitlin Woods said: “We’re so pleased Fierce Pro Dancers will be joining us for this year’s Kiltwalk. They’re bursting with energy and I’m sure it will help weary walkers to keep on going.”

The full Edinburgh Kiltwalk is 26 miles but there is also a 13 mile half walk and a six mile wee walk which is perfect for families.
