Rugby Round-up
Week Four of the BT Premiership saw all four Edinburgh clubs keeping it very much in the family as they got down to a pair of Derby matches. Premiership returnees, Boroughmuir lost out 21-8 to last year’s strugglers, Currie, at Malleny Park, while across the Capital, Edinburgh Accies and Heriots fought out a closely contested match at Raeburn Place with the away side edging it 28-26, but leaving Accies with a bonus point.
Heriots and Currie lie third and fourth, with 14 and 13 points respectively, followed closely by Boroughmuir on 11 points in sixth. Last season’s ninth-place side, Edinburgh Accies, remain rooted firmly at the bottom of the table with that solitary bonus point.
In the BT National League, Div. 1, Stew-Mel saw off Marr – as reported elsewhere – to the tune of 34-20, while Watsonians had a similarly successful 33-15 win against Jed-Forest at Myreside. This sees Watsonians in third place with 10 points and Stew-Mel only one point behind, but in sixth place, with 9.
