Following sell out shows in December and January, Edinburgh magicians John Henry Blackwood and Paul Novak continue to bring unique magic and cabaret entertainment to the heart of Edinburgh.
This February they will move to what they say will hopefully become their new home, the Assembly Roxy. John Henry Blackwood has been amazed by the reaction of the Edinburgh audiences: “The response we’ve had from the audience so far really has spurred us on to make the show even bigger and more amazing with more incredible acts from all over the UK. The Assembly Roxy is a beautiful venue that’s ideally suited to magic and illusion!”
Their first show at the Assembly Roxy 2 Roxburgh Place EH8 9SU will take place at 7.30pm on 10 February 2014 and will feature stage illusions, card magic, mentalism and a few little oddities that will surprise even the biggest magic aficionado. There are even prizes to be won. Tickets range from £8.50 to £10 and can be bought through the Hub Tickets and Ripping Records.
Both Paul and John want to bring magic to as many people as possible, further developing Edinburgh’s personality for awe and inspiration. “Edinburgh is such a magical place and it seemed stupid that we didn’t have something like the Auld Reekie Magic Cabaret here!” said Paul Novak on why he started the show. Following their individual successes at the Fringe 2013 Paul and John feel that although television magic can be entertaining, nothing is as awe-inspiring or as powerful as being fooled up close and in person.
