On February 2 the Tri-Centre of South Clerk Street will host the John Muir Winter Carnival at Dunbar’s Foxlake Adventures. The event marks the 100th anniversary of the Scottish-American naturalist who is well known as the founder of the highly influential American conservation group the Sierra Club, and has a number of walks, buildings and areas across the world named in his honour.
The Carnival opens from 8am and there is an exstensive programme of events on offer ranging from sport in the form of a cyclocross race and trail run, to farm stalls from local traders and a giant bonfire.
Stuart McInnes of the Tri-Centre assured The Edinburgh Reporter:- “The winter festival will be a cracking day!”
