Jordon Forster started the Terry Butcher era in the heart of the back four alongside Paul Hanlon, but since the return of Michael Nelson from injury, the 20 year old has moved to right back where his performances have earned rave reviews from the Easer Road faithful.

A delighted Forster spoke immediately after Hibs’ derby win against Hearts, although losing a goal took some of the gloss from the result.

He said: “People might say that in the past we might have crumbled but we didn’t. We had loads of chances first half, scored the goal in the second and then let things go for about five minutes. It’s disappointing to lose a goal in any game let alone a derby but the mentality we have now is that if a team score one we’ll go and score two.

“Football is a funny game and while we struggled for goals, when you score one or two they start to come thick and fast. It’s like a bus – you wait for one and two come along at once.

In the dressing room after the game, Terry Butcher told the squad to enjoy the experience but then concentrate on Sunday’s fixture against Dundee United at Tannadice.

Forster continued: “We’re definitely flying confidence-wise. We’ve had a clean sheet against Ross County and Kilmarnock and now we’ve won a derby. We’re flying and now we can look forward to Sunday and hopefully another positive result.

“You look at the league and apart from Celtic who are away at the top most other clubs can climb a couple of positions with a few positive results and that’s what we have done.

“We’re into the top six and three points against United will put us just two points behind them.

“United haven’t been in the best of form but that’s this league for you – everyone can beat each other.

“We’re in a good vein of form right now and we want to continue that and climb up the table even more.

“Winning breeds confidence and confidence for a player makes a world of difference.

“Going into games we know we’re going to score goals and feel we won’t concede at the other end; it’s a great recipe for success.”

“We’re confident we can go to Tannadice and get three points. The way the games come thick and fast at this time of year suits us because we can’t wait for matches.”
