Planning committee meets today – Question Time style event in Currie – Police boxes – Christmas lights in the Old College Quad – Tonight at the Dominion

Councillor Ian Perry convenes the final Planning Committee meeting of the year this morning. The council meets in full session for the final time this year next Thursday and then there are no meetings till January.

This does not mean that the whole business of council stops however. They are responsible for many things which affect you from parking to bins. If you have any questions over the festive period then there are a lot of answers on the main council website.

If you want to work with the council there are some jobs available here.

On Monday night all the local politicians are standing up to be counted. Currie Community Council are hosting the event for an end of year report from your representatives.

Unlike the tardis in Brandon Terrace which got such loving treatment the other week on the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, this one in Princes Street looks a wee bit neglected we think….

What would you suggest doing with it?

Old College Quadrangle will be brightened by the presence of a Christmas tree for the first time this winter.

Students and staff watched the switching on of the Christmas lights last Wednesday when University Principal Professor Sir Timothy O’Shea will perform the lighting up ceremony.

Anyone had time to get any photos of them yet? Do share them with us!

If you haven’t been to the Dominion Cinema then tonight would be a good time to start. They are showing a wide range of films from Gravity (seen it and loved it – time flew past) to the new Hunger Games move (saw the first one not sure about going to see this one…but could be persuaded…). The difference is that you are seated on leather sofas…and you can take a drink in with you. Some tickets entitle you to free Pringles too….

All details for tonights films here. (Oh and there is a former police box outside – if you could perhaps send us a photo that would be helpful…)
