CHARITY AUCTION AT THE VOODOO ROOMS
Monday 25th November 2013
Doors open: 6:45pm
Auction Begins: 7:30pm
FreshAir.org.uk, Edinburgh’s student radio station, is hosting a charity auction in the Voodoo Rooms on 25th November to raise money for partner charity Waverley Care.
Waverley Care is Scotland’s leading charity providing care and support to people living with and affected by HIV and Hepatitis C. They offer peer support, counselling, advice, information and befriending services to people living with HIV and Hepatitis C, and to their partners, families and carers. They also work to challenge the prejudice and stigma often associated with these conditions.
FreshAir’s Station Manager Eve Livingston said “as a former Head of Fundraising at the station, I’ve grown to know members of Waverley Care’s fundraising team well and learned a lot about the charity and their important work; I couldn’t be prouder to support them through fundraisers like this. If we help just one person or project through the auction then all our hard work will have been worth it”.
Jane Griffin, a member of Waverley Care’s Fundraising and Communications team, commented on the important relationship between the two organisations, stating “We rely on the support and generosity of organisations like FreshAir, and are enormously grateful to them for the continued support they give us.”
So please come along and show your support for a local charity doing invaluable work for our community. Many exciting prizes are up for auction including a week-long getaway to a villa in Moraira, Spain! There’ll be something to suit all budgets, from gig tickets to jewellery and one-off ‘in-kind’ prizes. This is a unique christmas shopping opportunity not to be missed!
