Here’s Connie, theSpace @ Jury’s Inn, 12 to 24 August (except 18) 2:10pm, £5 (£4 concessions)
Carrie-Anne Wilde, University of the West of Scotland Musical Theatre Honours’ Degree graduate, makes her first appearance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with the self-penned semi autobiographical ‘Here’s Connie’. Using her vocal range and physicality, the actress brings several characters to life in her one-woman performance.
Her character Connie uses sex and partying to avoid dealing with the death of her first love. As she returns from and reflects on another one-night-stand, the downfall of her soldier brother, her whisky loving Granny and agoraphobia patient Lizzy, she questions the need to grow up and face reality.
‘Here’s Connie’ offers audiences humour and believable characters they can relate to as the character tries to figure out how people can be saved from the realities of life.
The play was originally performed as an 80-minute production in November 2012, at East Kilbride Arts Centre.
