Hair by JFK are known for being one of the most dog-friendly salons in the UK,  and they are also known for supporting local creative talent and hosting inspiring exhibitions in their salon featuring some of Edinburgh’s most up and coming artists. So it seemed only natural that for their next exhibition they would showcase the work of local photographer, Cheryl Loney of Edinburgh Dog Photography.

‘I love taking photographs of dogs in and around Edinburgh. I capture them at their most relaxed, ideally while out walking in wee city parks like The Meadows, climbing Arthurs Seat or playing in the sea at Portobello. I began my photography career back in 2006 by photographing humans, but after getting a puppy four years ago my lens began to focus more and more on him and his wee pals playing,’ said Cheryl.

‘We have had several artists exhibit their work over the past year and we are delighted to welcome Cheryl into the salon to showcase her work which is not only a great example of the artistic talent we’re privileged to have here in Edinburgh, but also a great illustration of our passion for dogs,’ said Hair by JFK Creative Director, Karen Brown.

The exhibition opens in the Hair by JFK Bruntsfield salon on Sunday 30th June 2pm – 4pm. Come along and you’ll also be able to meet some of the models featured in the photographs. The invitation is open to everyone (including dogs!)
