Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for help in tracing an elderly lady who is missing from her home in Edinburgh.

Seventy-four-year-old Anne Shields was last seen in Craiglockart Road around 3.30pm this afternoon 3 July 3012 and has not been seen since.

She is described as being white, around 5ft 5ins tall, slim build with short grey hair. She was wearing a cardigan (possibly red), light brown tweed trousers and brown sandals when she was last seen.

Inspector Stephen Sutherland said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Anne’s safety as she suffers from dementia.

“Her clothing is quite distinctive, and we don’t believe she had a handbag or purse with her when she left, so we are appealing for anyone who may have seen her since 3.30pm this afternoon to contact us on 0131 311 3131.”

Anyone with any information should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or the charity Crimestoppers in complete confidence and anonymity on 0800 555 111.

UPDATE:- Lothian and Borders Police confirmed on 4 July that Anne Shields has been traced safe and well.

A spokesman said:-“We would like to thank the media for their support with this appeal.”
