The Olympic Torch passed by Hopetoun House and onto Edinburgh Castle via Bruntsfield today.
The flame was preceded by a procession of horse-drawn carriages at Hopetoun. The schoolchildren who had previously been doing school sports such as running, cheered as the flame arrived, showered in pyrotechnics by the local 21ccFireworks company . The flame departed as quickly as it arrived, on towards Broxburn and thence to Edinburgh.
Large crowds were seen at Holy Corner and in Bruntsfield. Young children were perched on adult shoulders so that they could get a better look.
