So it is Halloween next week but already the Christmas word is creeping into TV adverts, conversation and is evident around town. The Christmas lights are going to be turned on on 1 December 2011 at about 4.30 p.m. But right now we have another Festival underway as The Scottish Storytelling Festival began on Friday. This year’s theme is islands and some of the events take place on the Scottish isles but there should be enough in the programme to keep you amused in Edinburgh. We have our own mini=guide here.
The Space Between is according to the BBCbeing billed as Edinburgh’s love story. It was shot in three weeks for around £15,000. This kind of film-making is being discussed on BBC Radio Scotland’s Business programme this morning. If you have missed it then you might catch it on iPlayer.
The Edinburgh Evening News reports that a city mews is probably going to be demolished in the redevelopment of the south side of Charlotte Square.
Anyone who follows Edinburgh-based author, Ian Rankin, on Twitter will know that he is in Canada at the moment on a book tour. No surprise then that the local paper, The Calgary Herald, has an interview with him here, and a rather disappointing review of his latest book, The Impossible Dead.
