Cumulus exhibition launch, Out of the Blue Drill Hall, 36 Dalmeny Street, Edinburgh, EH6 8RG. 7pm – 9pm
This exhibition is a selection of work by Säde Foley, now in her final year of Drawing & Painting at Edinburgh College of Art. The show consists of works in mixed media created during her degree, revisited and brought together for the first time. Based on a variety of sources rooted in the natural world (from cow parsley to icebergs) the pieces convey running themes of transience, water in its different forms, timelessness and etherealness which are at the core of the artist’s inspiration.
Exhibition runs daily (except Sundays) until April 14th from 10am – 5pm.
Come along to the launch of Gate 55, the brand new home of Sighthill Library.
“We’ll have story telling sessions for children, a ‘pig parade’ craft session and fruit tasting with the centre’s new food co-op.
You’ll also be able to take part in face-painting, employment skills workshops, giant jenga and a cv clinic!”
Monday (4th April) from 3 – 5pm – see you there!

Ever heard a whole orchestra sneeze? In Hungary, that means you’re telling tall tales – but who’s counting, when they’re as flamboyant and fun as Kodály’s rollicking musical fairy-tale Háry János? Haydn might seem more polite, but he’s every bit as witty – meanwhile, Beethoven poses us a series of poetic puzzles in his gentlest, and most personal, piano concerto. The great Canadian pianist Marc-André Hamelin is the perfect guide.
