A batch of exclusive Easter Eggstravaganza Eggs, which have been signed by some of the country’s favourite celebrities in aid of Royal Blind, were unveiled last week at the People’s Palace, Glasgow Green.
Among the celebrities supporting this year’s event are: Stephen Fry, Michael Ball, Ed Miliband, Simon Pegg and Christine Bleakley. In addition John Lowrie Morrison – Jolomo – one of Scotland’s best loved contemporary artists designed, hand painted and signed on of this year’s eggs.
The fabulous 2011 selection of Eggstravaganza Eggs each contain a gift and have been individually designed and hand crafted by a team of artistic volunteers.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to all the celebrities and our band of very talented and artistic volunteers who together make this a really unique fundraising event for Royal Blind” said Helen Forrest, marketing and fundraising manager for Royal Blind. “We are really proud of the services we deliver to those who are blind and have disabilities but never forget that this is only possible with the help of others.”
To assist in launching the eggs Royal Blind’s very own Easter bunny arrived at People’s Palace Glasgow displaying the newly decorated eggs which were officially unveiled on The Hour on STV.
All the eggs are to be auctioned on ebay and the bidding will commence at 7pm on Saturday 16th April and will be live for 10 days. Ebay for Charity is supporting Royal Blind’s Easter Eggstravaganza and has placed the charity at their check-out from Monday 18th April.
