Lesley McAra, Professor of Penology, has been announced as the next Head of School at Edinburgh Law School. Professor McAra takes over from Professor Douglas Brodie, who leaves to take up the position of Head of Arts and Humanities at Stirling University. Professor McAra will assume the post on 1st May 2011.
An established Edinburgh manufacturing company, Nairns Oatcakes, has reported a small increase in turnover but a small decrease in operating profits due to increased investment in marketing and the development of new products, including a gluten-free range. What is exciting though, is that they have expanded their workforce. They have a lovely website which is really worth a look – we love the tractor….
