The Melting Pot on Rose Street in Edinburgh is celebrating Global Enterprise Week from 15 – 19 November with an ‘Open Week’.   The first 10 social innovators to email membersupport@themeltingpotedinburgh.org.uk with the subject line WORKSPACE and a couple of sentences about their project will be invited to use the shared workspace for free all week.

The Melting Pot is a centre for social innovation which aims to inspire and support people to realise their ideas for a better world.  It provides shared low-carbon work, meeting and events space for people working for social, economic or environmental well-being.   Members of the shared workspace pay only for the hours they need every month, with flexible packages from 5 hours/month up to full time access.

General Manager Verity Leigh said, “We know that often the people who can benefit most from the networking opportunities and support which The Melting Pot offers are those with projects at the start-up stage, who are the ones least able to afford it.”  She said that they want to help individuals with great ideas for a better world to escape from long hours working in isolation at their kitchen table.

The social enterprise also has two Open Days every month, on the second Tuesday and the last Thursday, for anyone considering joining the shared workspace and wanting to try it out.
